The KNUST Technology Consultancy Center has welcomed the leadership of German Development Cooperation, GIZ on a familiarization visit.
The visit led by country director, Dr. Dirk Aßmann, sought to update the cooperation on various partnering activities at KNUST, TCC-CIMET, Suame Magazine and Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research (KCCR).
At Suame Magazine, the team met with the Suame Magazine Industrial Development Organization (SMIDO) and the Ladies in E-Waste and Scraps Association (LEWSA), touring artisanal businesses in the region's largest informal automotive cluster.
TCC-CIMET has been involved with building capacity of SMIDO staff in areas of Industrial mechanics, auto mechanics, foundry and lathe turning and metal fabrication.
TCC-CIMET Director-General Prof. Francis Davis briefed the team on initiatives at centre helping to augment support by the German Cooperation.
