TCC-CIMET to forge partnership with International Competence Centre for Mining Engineering Education

Technology Consultancy Centre Centre for Innovation, Manufacturing, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (TCC- CIMET) is planning to partner the International Competence Centre for Mining Engineering Education (ICCMEE) Saint Petersburg, Russia in certain strategic areas.

This came up during a meeting with Dr. Viacheslav Zyrin, head, Competence Department, International Competence Centre.

The key areas emphasized during the meeting were the signing of MoU between the two centres, consortium for the technical universities in Africa, international standards for a unified certification for mineral extraction engineers, staff/students exchange programs.

Other areas are joint short courses, identify areas of collaboration and ICCMEE Branch in Africa.

The Director-General of TCC-CIMET, Prof. Francis Davis promised to ensure a continuous collaboration with ICCMEE for mutual benefit.

It allocates grants for various educational programs under the auspices of the UNESCO Center.
