IDSI 2013 officially commenced

The International Development Summer Institute (IDSI), a summer school jointly organized by the Technology Consultancy Centre (TCC), KNUST and the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) has been launched on Monday, 20th May, 2013 at the TCC conference room.

As part of the 4 weeks summer school, 13 students from the University of Pennsylvania  will work with 8 KNUST students to undertake internship in 5 areas; Health, Water and sanitation, Education, Microfinance and  Appropriate technology.

Speaking at the launch, the Provost of the College of Engineering KNUST, Prof. S. I. K. Ampadu challenged the participants to work hard to come up with solutions that would address the issues of global warming, poverty and food security.  

Present at the launch were; Dr. Yaw Obeng, Director of TCC, Prof E. Mensah (Agric Eng.), Mr. Don Amrago, Mr. Michael Adjaloo , Staff of TCC and IDSI 2012 alumni
